Has the Fitness Industry Misled Us?

Updated: Mar 31

We have all been taught the same process when it comes to fitness and weight loss.

  • Go to the gym.

  • Follow a workout plan that doesn't suit your needs or interests.

  • Work out for hours, potentially risking injury, to achieve someone else's idea of fitness.

  • Retire from physical activity when you're older, feeling worn out and wondering why you didn't prioritize your health earlier.

You're losing faith in the fitness industry's approach to aging well and feeling your best. You may think it's too late, your have waited to long, you're to old, or that "it wont work for me."

How do we know that?

Because you wouldn't be reading this if you weren't questioning the status quo.

Why shouldn't you give up? You have tried everything.

Maybe you have not tried everything....

We are in a new age now...And the fitness industry is more popular than ever before.

Why?

Because of the internet, Social media has created a new fitness economy. Personal fitness brands are the “influencers” and coaches of this new universe.

And obviously, they are not all fitness professionals. Social media is a platform where anyone can teach routines, exercises and give advice with little to no training, experience of education.

Many times these Influencers and trainers are very young, look good aesthetically and are demonstrating exercises and movements that catch your eye, "stop the scroll" and keep your attention.

The unsuspecting client, assumes that the trainer or coach demonstrating the exercises or giving that advice achieved the physique they have from doing whatever they are showing in their video, reels.

So in an effort to emulate that physique or attribute, the viewer attempts the routine blindly simple because "someone on the internet said so..."

Or maybe "I want my butt to look like hers."

Thing is, fitness, weight loss and physiology do not work like that.

Many of these people are 25-30 years old, they have superior genetics and live in the gym.

They have perfect lighting, camera angles and photoshop, all to present a "look" to convince you that they know the craft.

Of course on the internet there are numerous beneficial exercise routines, healthy recipes, and motivational tips.

It is also where you can connect with like-minded individuals and the legitimate fitness experts to support your wellness journey.

Well, it's pretty hard to actually connect...

In the realm of online expertise, a glaring issue emerges: the lack of genuine interaction. While you might in some cases access advice and insights from these experts, the ability to engage directly with them, seek clarifications, or tailor their guidance to your specific circumstances is often elusive.

It's like receiving a one-way broadcast, where your questions remain unanswered, and the advice may not always align with your age, fitness level, or unique requirements.

This limitation can leave you feeling disconnected and unsure about how to apply the advice to your own journey effectively.

But we will get back to that in a second.

We've been in the fitness industry for just over 30 years. and it's been quite the ride.

We've owned and operated four different training facilities, including a 20,000 square foot training center that's seen its fair share of success stories.

When we left that world and took our program online to share with the world, there were TWO THINGS we knew we could do better than anyone, anywhere.

  1. We could break what you need to know down where people could understand it.

We know that fitness and weight loss experts are all in the same ocean, and they create quite the waves. Everyone is arguing or promoting a different workout, diet, schedule or program.

We knew we could take the main things you need to know to great results, teach them at any level and help save you the time, energy and confusion of sorting through the war going on and getting hit by the shrapnel in the process.

2. We could be reachable.

We decided on that very first day that anyone who wanted to work with us would have options of actually asking us questions, interacting and getting real help directly from us.

You wouldn't be given a "support email" or a robot. Not a generic answer and definitely not a cutesy video with little balloons over our heads describing our "workout." Actual help.

And that brings us here.

This is the first newsletter in a series of coaching and trainings for you. This series is designed for anyone who wants to learn from our 30+ years of personal training, fitness and group exercise experience.

If you you want to be better, lose weight and sort through some of the confusion this is a good place to be.

If you have tried everything and havent found that special thing you are looking for, it will be worth your time to look into this a little deeper.

If you already have everything all figured out you might as well move on.

We are all students here.

Students of what you might ask?

Students of fitness, nutrition, living better and exercising not only so we look better, but so we can do stuff.

Because for us, that's what matters. We want to be able to do stuff.

Flexing your biceps is great when you are 35 years old. When you mature, flexing is picking up a child or grandchild. Pushing a friends car that is out of gas or tackling a hard day of yard work.

Still being able to turn a head or two is a bonus.

We welcome you. If you want to take the next step, we invite you to join our free online community, look at one of our programs or text us so we can say hello.
