If you have been following the Fitness One Training System, you know that our strength training classes format has been evolving with the latest science of strength and TUESDAY WORKOUTS are the number one workout day of the week. We LOVE kickboxing and cardio interval classes, but NOTHING surpasses the strength class for the best results. This video explains why.
The pic above we had to pry away from our girl Tara, who followed my advice and focused on strength training, not cardio. Corrected her meal plans with prepping and put more effort into rest and recovery. We think she looks fantastic! Here is her quick testimonial.
“I have been an avid exerciser for 17 years. When I started at Fitness One I was a runner who was not crazy about taking fitness classes. After a few months I was hooked on what this gym was offering. I took class 5-6 days a week. Fast forward about 5 years and two toddlers later. Although I still exercised regularly and considered myself pretty tough, I was not having the results I desired. (This video explains why you cannot “cardio” your way into weight loss.) I was stuck in the “mom rut” and finding it hard to find time to do it all.
Nutrition fell by the wayside. After being at Allen’s gym for so many years I trusted him and his knowledge of what works for getting results. I trusted him but I didn’t always listen. Then I started to get random injuries here and there and thought I was having shin splints–as it turns out, I was overtraining.
Finally I listened to what Allen had been saying all along. I added an extra rest day (now 3 instead of 2); I used my strength days to truly fatigue my muscles every time; and I started food prepping and focusing on eating foods that were really going to fuel my body and muscle growth.
The pounds literally started to fall off.
I weigh less now than really ever in my adult life. But more importantly I am stronger and have more muscle definition than I ever could have with running alone. AND I get an extra day of rest! It really is simple–follow a few simple nutrition guidelines and let the awesome trainers at Fitness One guide you in building lean muscle. I was the one standing in my way all along. This is a reboot week for our strength training classes and we have seen INCREDIBLE results by those who have followed the program. This will be the best round yet of toning, gaining lean muscle mass and shredding the calories.

Summer Fitness and Martial Arts Schedule
Our full fitness and martial arts schedule has returned to full swing with all classes and programs! Be sure to stay up to date on fitness and martial arts classes on the schedule page of our website.
The Wonder Woman Workout
This fitness program begins on Tuesday the 17th for all of those who have enrolled. Allen will be reaching out and answering questions, providing class info etc. The first morning class is on the 17th at 10:00am, The first pm class is the 17th at 6:30pm.
Krav Maga Class Info
Our Krav-maga program is one of the fastest growing classes at fitness one. We are currently offering Krav maga classes on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 7:30 AM, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM and Saturday mornings at 8:15 AM.
This class is part of our Martial Arts package, includes sport Kickboxing, submission wrestling as well as all of our fitness and conditioning classes. We are planning to add an additional beginner level class in the fall.

Personal training slots
As many of you know getting a spot with one of our trainers has been difficult for the past several months due to their schedules being booked! We have been working to hire additional trainers/staff to accommodate the need and we now have four slots per week open.
